I’ve spent the first half of my life growing up on the eastern seaboard of the United States. The oldest of seven children, I thank the Lord for a wonderful childhood under purposeful, loving Christian parents.
I received Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour on 23 August 1977 kneeling beside my mother in the town of Lebanon, Pennsylvania. This was the day I entered the family of God, making it the greatest day of my life.
My relationship with the Lord became serious when we lived in Philadelphia and I began a daily prayer time with the Lord. My relationship with the Lord really took off when my Pastor challenged me to read the entire Bible each year. That habit has had a marked impact on me. I have discovered that God’s Word is the primary source of wisdom in a man’s life.
I met my sweetheart when I was 16 years of age. We married 18 months before moving to Australia. Now, more than 27 years of marriage to her have passed, and we love each other more than ever. She is one of God‘s greatest blessings to me. Truly, ‘a prudent wife is from the Lord’ (Proverbs 19:14). God has given us 5 children and 3 grandchildren.
Having discovered that there were few distinctly New Testament assemblies in Wollongong, we moved to the area and planted the Illawarra Community Baptist Church in April 2000. One of my greatest joys is feeding, leading and guarding some of God’s precious people here in Wollongong.
My hobbies include reading, renovating, playing trumpet, bike-riding with my youngest son, and spending time with my family.
