The hoary head is a crown of glory, if it be found in the way of righteousness.
Proverbs 16:31
This verse is saying that a grey head is glorious when it is walking in paths of righteousness.
The verse set me to thinking about ‘the way of righteousness.’ The word way literally speaks of a road or path, and figuratively alludes to a course of life.
I took a brief glance at this weighty topic which is all over the Word of God. My findings are in the chart below. Perhaps you might like to study the topic more thoroughly.
Father, thank You for leading me into Your paths. Help me to walk in Your paths (Ps. 81:13). In these apostate days, guard me and those I care about, that we may discern dangerous roads of death. Guide our feet into the ‘way of righteousness.’ I join with David of old in asking You, ‘Teach me Thy way’ (Ps. 86:11). I ask this in the Name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.
