The Lord Jesus challenges us to build our lives, our families, and our churches in preparation for the coming storms.
Wisdom knows that storms ARE coming into our lives. Rain will beat down. Floodwaters will rise and threaten the very foundations. Winds will be turbulent, threatening to topple the structures we have set up.
Just as some houses fall during a cyclone, some lives will collapse in an astounding way.
I’ve known a professing Christian to proclaim himself an atheist, a missionary to quit and call himself a Deist, a couple on the mission field to separate. What knocked down these structures?
One flaw caused these lives to plunge.
Our Saviour nails it in this passage.
Hearing the Word of God is vital. Obeying it is key.
Father, in this new year, I want to be founded upon a rock, withstanding the storms that are coming. Make me wise enough to search Your Word for Your solutions, rather than looking to human answers. Keep me disciplined, faithfully in Your Word, hungry to hear what You have to teach me. Then help me to do what You say to do. I ask in the Name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.
