Thou hast put all things in subjection under his feet. For in that he put all in subjection under him, he left nothing that is not put under him. But now we see not yet all things put under him.
Hebrews 2:8
The Lord Jesus Christ is the Exalted One to Whom every knee will bow. Sooner or later, we will all submit to Him.
A quick observation of our world today reveals that not all people are in subjection to Him. We will have to wait until the Millennium to see this submission completely fulfilled.
On this Halloween day, which is associated with paganism, death, and the occult, we can rejoice that even Satan will someday be subject to the Lord Jesus Christ. Verse 14 of this same chapter says, ‘…that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil.’
Praise God that universal subjection is not a question of if, but when. 1 Corinthians 15:28 spells it out: ‘And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.’
Every defiantly-clenched fist will be conquered, ‘…for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased…’ (Luke 18:14). Philippians 2:10-11 promises, ‘That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.’
The only question is, will I bow the knee to the Lord Jesus Christ now or later?
Father, I bow myself to Your authority. You are Lord of all. I rejoice that sooner or later every person and every demon will come to the same conclusion. Be Master of my life, my plans, my thoughts, my tongue, my time, my possessions, and my will. I ask this in the Name of the Lord Jesus, Amen.
